Data Dictionary is a functionality which provides information on the different various nodes, properties and their relationships between each configured tool configured to provide data to Insights. It aids Data Dictionary helps in creating the dashboards quickly by providing the relevant information to write either a Cypher Query (for Neo4j datasource) or Lucene Query (for Elasticsearch datasource).

This feature module is only available to the User Role - Admin, and Editor. Users User Role with Viewer access will not be able to view Data Dictionary. Note: Please contact your local Admin if you need access to the Data Dictionary |

Click
the Help button- Click the Help button on the top-right side of the screen. You will be able to see the option only when the Dashboards tab is selected
- Select Data Dictionary from the drop down. A new window would be opened for Data Dictionary.
Select a Start Tool
- Select a tool from the list of tools drop down.
Select an End Tool
- Select a tool from the list of tools drop down (Note: This is optional, and only required if you want to check correlations between the selected tools).
Click Show Correlations button
- Click Check Correlations button (Note: This is optional, and only required if you want to check correlations between the selected tools).
on Data Dictionary on the main navigation to access the module
Select Tool 1
- Please Select Tool 1 from the drop down menu
- For example, if the Tool 1 selected is GIT, the tool properties are displayed under the Title "Tool Properties" in first column. (In below screenshot Tool 1: GIT is selected and GIT Properties are highlighted for reference)
Select Tool 2
- Select a Tool 2 from the drop down menu (Note: Selecting Tool 2 is required to view the Correlation between the selected tools).
- For example, if the Tool 2 selected is SONAR, the tool properties are displayed under the Title "Tool Properties" in the second column (In below screenshot Tool 2: SONAR is selected and SONAR Properties are highlighted for reference)
- On selection of Tool 1 and Tool 2 "Click to show Correlation" button is activated
Click - "Click to show Correlation" button
- Click - "Click to show Correlation" button on right of Tool 2 (Note: Selecting Tool 1 and Tool 2 are mandatory to view the Correlation Details - if any, between the selected Tools).
- "Click to show Correlation" button is deactivated after the Correlation Details are displayed (In below screenshot Click to show Correlation is deactivated and the Correlation Details - if any are displayed)

Please Note: You may select different set of tools to view the Correlation between selected Tools or please click on "Reset Selected Tools" (as highlighted in above screenshot) to clear the existing selection and select different sets of Tools to view the Correlation (applicable only if more than two tools have been added). |
